Contributions, Achievements in the Field of Educational Reforms

Professor A. Tarverdyan is a famous scientist not only in the RA, but also abroad due to his scientific-pedagogical activity and leading experience in agricultural educational system. He is Honorary Professor in more than 10 leading world universities. A.Tarverdyan is member world leading 250 universities board association and CIS countries’ agrarian universities rector’s board. He has come up with different suggestions and speeches on educational affairs in various international conferences.

During A. Tarverdyans’ incumbency Armenian National Agrarian University (the former Armenian State Agrarian University) has had a huge progress. More than 14 new specialties have been included, number of students has risen for more than 4 times, technical, laboratory conditions have been improved and renovated, as well as educational criteria have been worked out and curricula have been modernized. International cooperation programs have been launched, and currently about 20 educational, scientific and consulting programs are implemented with world leading universities of USA, Germany, France, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Greece and etc.. By the initiative and direct participation of A. Tarverdyan American Agribusiness Teaching School was founded in 2000, where students from Georgia, as well as from European states study.

Armenian National Agrarian University has launched innovation process in the field of educational methodical standards and has been acknowledged as an experimental base for educational reforms by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Currently required processes have been launched for achieving mutual recognition of diplomas with agrarian universities of German Federation, the Netherlands, Portugal and Estonia.
