Erasmus International Class
Within the framework of Erasmus Mundus EMBER Project I studied at the Faculty of Economics of Vilnius University in Lithuania from September 2016 till June 2017.
Studying at Vilnius University was a real pleasure. Our lecturers were professionals in their field with many years of experience. Classes were held only in English not only for Lithuanian, but also for Erasmus students. The international class made the study more interesting and productive.
I carried out many group projects and wrote research papers about economic situation in Armenia, Judicial system of Armenia, crisis in Greece, business ethics analysis of Starbucks and so on. Vilnius University has a very advanced and modern Library where I used to spend many hours studying.
My academic year was quite overloaded. The course consisted of 12 subjects. The Lithuanian language course was a real challenge for me within which I studied basic communication skills. I would like to highlight the word “ačiū” in Lithuanian which was the sound to announce bus stops.
Our faculty campus, student dormitories and library were located in a beautiful forest. In Vilnius the weather was rainy and wet typical to the climate of Baltic States, yet, the atmosphere was so warm at the same time: for the first time in my life I got the opportunity to live and study in an international environment. One of the biggest advantages of living in a dormitory was having roommates from different countries: from South Korea, Italy, Latvia, and so on. We lived like a big family. Every day we were organizing International dinner to discover our national dishes.Erasmus Student Network (ESN) organized many cultural events, gatherings for presenting our national cuisines, culture and traditions, intellectual contests. Armenian grape leaf dolma, “Kakavik” song by Komitas and the Armenian dance “Kochari” were loved by International participants. I made a quiz and those who answered the questions, got souvenirs from Armenia. Erasmus was a very effective and wonderful experience in my life. I am very proud to be a graduate of Vilnius University.
